Working with nonaviation personnel can make air medical crew resource management (CRM) challenging. This course will illustrate how pilots can successfully navigate CRM with nonaviation crew members to enhance decision-making, teamwork, and communications .

Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of the course, participants will have learned:

  • The important role of crew resource management in the air medical sector
  • The pilot’s expectations of medical crew members
  • How to avoid common communication pitfalls.

Instructor Bio

Brian Rogge has been a flight nurse for 13 years on both traditional and specialty teams. He has worked in hospital-based programs with vendors as well as stand-alone programs with Part 135 certificate operators. Brian is currently a director of clinical operations for Life Flight Network.

Casey Seckel is a flight nurse and a director of clinical operations for Life Flight Network. He is also a nurse corps officer in the US Army Reserve and a director-at-large for the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association.
