Most people in the general population are unaware of the harm that dietary supplements—from vitamins to energy drinks—can bring to aviation operations. While some supplements may cause minor irritations, others can have a more profound effect. This session will discuss the idiosyncrasies and synergistic effects of dietary supplements on diet, medications, and other factors.

Dudley Crosson, president of Delta P Inc., is an aeromedical safety officer (an aerospace physiologist who is also a qualified aviation safety officer) and the aeromedical liaison for the Airborne Public Safety Association. His work focuses on operations rather than research. Dudley, who holds a doctorate in diving physiology and a master’s in exercise physiology, provides aeromedical safety support in areas such as aviation life support equipment, fatigue, spatial disorientation, stress, night-vision goggles, and other physiological issues.
