This course is designed to assist executives, managers, and supervisors of helicopter operations with the important task of leadership. Attendees will learn leadership concepts and approaches for being a role model, empowering personnel, building effective teams, promoting the exchange of information, and making sound decisions to achieve operational goals and promote corporate objectives.

Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of the course, participants will have learned:

  • The knowledge and leadership skills necessary to make sound decisions, implement appropriate leadership styles and strategies, mentor employees, identify and build effective teams, and manage their time efficiently

Instructor Bio

Daniel Prather currently serves as professor of aviation science at California Baptist University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in aviation/airport management and conducts field research. He is an instrument-rated private pilot, an AAAE-accredited airport executive, and an NBAA-certified aviation manager. He is also an active aviation industry consultant, often engaged in projects with the Airport Cooperative Research Program of the Transportation Research Board. Daniel holds two doctorates, two master’s degrees, and a bachelor’s degree in commercial aviation.
