Emergency Response Planning: A Critical SMS Aspect

This session will provide a brief overview of the importance and key elements of an effective emergency response plan. It will include investigation protocols and how operators can interact with the investigation. It will also cover the role of internal and external communications, aspects of victim/family assistance, ERP format and organization, and ERP training, exercises, and drills.

Instructor Bio

Jeff Guzzetti has more than 35 years of aviation safety analysis and accident investigation with the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the FAA. Since his retirement from the government in 2019, Jeff has been the president of Guzzetti Aviation Risk Discovery LLC (GuARD), where his serves as an experienced aviation safety consultant, instructor, investigator, auditor, and writer. Jeff earned an aeronautical engineering degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and holds FAA airman certifications.
