What can you do as an operator to maintain your insurability? In this session, we’ll discuss general safety, safety equipment, training, culture, and best practices as they relate to insurability. We’ll also review the importance of maintaining a level of comfort with your insurance carrier to permit a free and open exchange of information between your broker and underwriter. Participants in the seminar will gain a better understanding of the broker and underwriter roles in aviation insurance and obtain key insights into what underwriters look for when evaluating a potential client.

Instructor Bio

Kevin J. Kovarik is senior vice president, regional supervisor, and rotary wing business line manager at United States Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG). He is responsible for general aviation underwriting and regional oversight of USAIG’s Chicago branch office. Prior to joining USAIG, Kevin was an underwriter at Global Aerospace and a broker at Wenk Aviation Insurance. Earlier, he was a charter dispatcher at Priester Aviation. Kevin is an active pilot and the owner of a Cessna 182S.
