Performance-Based Navigation for Helicopters
Rotor Safety Challenge (RSC)
Tracks: Career Development, Maintenance, Operations, Pilot, Safety, Student
Instructor: Chris Baur, Hughes Aerospace Corp.
As the FAA’s NextGen movement continues to advance, helicopter navigation, especially COPTER IFR, continues to modernize and evolve. In this environment, pilots, operators, and others should become familiar with performance-based navigation (PBN) requirements, capabilities, compliance, and limitations. PBN is particularly effective in low-level IFR navigation, independent of ground-based navigation aids.
