This course will review the civil aviation regulations in 14 CFR that affect the purchase, sale, receiving, stocking, inspection, and installation of civil aviation articles for maintenance purposes. We will also cover other guidance as well as regulatory and contractual requirements.
Learning Objectives: By the conclusion of the course, participants will have learned:
- US civil aviation regulations (Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations [14 CFR]) that apply directly to the purchase, sale, receiving, stocking, inspection, and installation of civil aviation articles
- Other regulations that affect those activities
- Other requirements that affect those activities.
Instructor Bio
Sarah MacLeod is managing member of OFM&K and a founder and executive director of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association. She has advocated for individuals and companies on international aviation safety law, policy, and compliance issues for 30 years. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and a law degree from Catholic University of America.
Christian A. Klein is the managing member of OFM&K, overseeing the firm’s policy advocacy practice. He represents trade associations as a registered federal lobbyist and provides strategic communications and legal counsel services to clients. He is also executive VP of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association and a member of the University of Virginia’s adjunct faculty. He obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors in international relations from the College of William and Mary and a law degree and a master’s degree in congressional politics from the Catholic University of America.
