This session will address the challenges in identifying safety threats to the commercial operation of uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and provide a framework for data collection related to hazard identification. Participants will be introduced to two risk-management techniques to support route analysis and safety case development in UAS operations and will leave with an understanding of the fundamentals of risk management as it applies to UAS operations.

Instructor Bio

Jorge Sanchez Hidalgo is an aviation safety professional with a passion for developing innovative approaches to training and enhancing critical skills in communications, leadership, and safety program engagement. He currently leads the safety management and air operator certification efforts in three countries for Aerialoop, a drone delivery start-up in Latin America. Jorge is also AeroDirections’ director of operations for Latin America and cofounder and managing partner of imPROS Ecuador.
