Self-Disclosure: Avoiding Self-Exposure

This session will review the elements of self-disclosure established by the FAA. It will cover the basics of filing a voluntary self-disclosure report with the agency and how that report will be handled. We’ll also review the best methods for investigating potential noncompliance and how to relate facts to the regulations without creating unnecessary consternation or scrutiny.

Instructor Bio

Sarah MacLeod is the managing member of Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein, PLC, and a founder and executive director of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association. She has advocated for individuals and companies in international aviation safety law, policy, and compliance issues for 30 years. Sarah obtained a bachelor’s degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and a law degree from the Catholic University of America.
