This session will review the elements of self-disclosure established by the FAA. It will cover the basics of filing a voluntary self-disclosure report with the agency and how that report will be handled. We’ll also review the inherent risks associated with self-disclosure, the best methods for investigating potential noncompliance, and how to relate facts to regulations without creating unnecessary consternation or scrutiny.

Instructor Bio

Sarah MacLeod is managing member of Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein and a founder and executive director of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association. She has advocated for individuals and companies regarding international aviation safety law, policy, and compliance issues for 30 years. She obtained her law degree from The Catholic University of America.

Marshall S. Filler is managing member of Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein and the managing director and general counsel of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association. He has advocated for individuals and companies on international aviation safety law, policy, and compliance issues for over 40 years. He obtained his bachelor’s and law degrees from The American University in Washington, D.C.
