Simulation: A USHST Culture of Safety
Rotor Safety Challenge (RSC)
Tracks: Operations, Pilot, Safety
Instructor: Nick Mayhew, US Helicopter Safety Team (USHST)
This session will focus on safety culture and examine the USHST data-driven approach to introducing helicopter safety enhancements—in particular, the need to increase flight simulation to improve aeronautical decision-making. We’ll use selected fatal accidents to demonstrate the need for this initiative and provide details on relevant safety enhancements.
