Instructor Bio
Tarek Loutfy is a skilled professional with more than 30 years’ experience in aviation flight and ground operations. He has worked with corporate management to maximize on-time performance, compliance, staffing, training, safety, and quality requirements.
Michael Ott, director of program operations for Phoenix Air Group, is a member of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) Standards Board and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Safety Committee. As a longtime safety manager who had to write his company’s SMS from scratch, Michael has won both the Bombardier Safety Standdown Award and NBAA’s first Dr. Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation Award. A Marine aviator who graduated from the US Naval Academy, he holds master’s degrees in aviation management and international relations and is enrolled in the doctoral program at Purdue University, where he is researching the effects of SMSs on accident frequency.
