This course introduces the Bowtie methodology and its use in analyzing and controlling operational hazards through a highly visual method. Hazards are deconstructed into their various elements, identifying threats and consequences and the appropriate controls necessary to mitigate risks to an acceptable level for the organization, its people, and its assets.

Instructor Bio

Gerald Kosbab consults with and instructs aviation organizations globally on safety and quality management systems and risk management. His passion for aviation safety stems from the loss of too many skilled friends and colleagues in preventable aviation accidents. He applies creative tools and techniques to the analysis and mitigation of operational risks through his work with both fixed- and rotary-wing operators and maintenance organizations.
