This session will review the regulatory landscape, pilot responsibilities, and challenges associated with integrating uncrewed aircraft systems (UASs) into an organization. The primary focus of this class is to assess the risk involved in NOT integrating UAS into your operation.

Instructor Bio

Scott Burgess is an associate professor in the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). A retired US Army aviator, Scott started ERAU’s helicopter academic program and is the chief of uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) flight operations with the university’s Worldwide Campus. He is currently working with more than $5 million worth of FAA-funded grants on UAS topics.

Robert “Rob” Lakind is an attorney at Fields Howell LLP. A former airline pilot who flew domestic and international flights, he represents a wide range of aviation clients. Rob’s background as a former pilot gives him unique insight into aviation matters and assists him in effectively representing his clients.
