This session will examine rotor track-and-balance theory and history, predictive maintenance, new technology, reduction of operation and maintenance costs, and safety. We’ll define vibrations and how they can cause loss of efficiency and unwanted wear and tear that can lead to catastrophe.

Instructor Bio

Michael Shilling is the director of vibration business development at KULR Technology Group. He served 20 years as a maintenance officer in the US Air Force and 10 years in the Air Force Special Operations Command, among other duties. He has been an aviation consultant for 15 years.

Norman Serrano is senior director of vibration control technologies at KULR Technology Group. Inventor of Vibe vibration-mitigation software, he has 40 years of experience in track-and-balance on more than 120 aircraft type models and in professional auto racing. Norman was a US Air Force crew chief for Hueys for 8 years and holds an A&P license and a commercial pilot license with more than 1,000 hours as a PIC.
